My N73

A blog on Nokia N73 Mobile

Yahoo, MSN, Google Talk, ICQ and Skype in One for N73

There is a nice application which can be used to chat with your friends in MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk/Jabber, ICQ/AOL messengers. This program also supports Skype. You can talk with your friends using Skype services including Skype Out. And this program is completely free. So from now on you will be always connected to your friends from your N73.

Another good point to mention is, it can simultaneously sign into more than one accounts of MSN and Yahoo. A pretty useful feature (MSN or Yahoo messenger will not allow it). The interface is also looking good. You can use smilies in your conversation.  To use google talk, you need to sign in with your full email address. Eg: xyz@gmail.com (not xyz).

Regarding Skype support, it seems a little restricted because, you need to install the skype plugin on your PC, and Skype service should also be running and signed in. You need to register for an EQO user account. Then login with that user id, and you can use Skype in your mobile. That means, you should be signed into Skype from a computer all the time. But still pretty useful. . So try it today. It is certainly one of the best free application available for N73. And it costs you nothing :)

Steps:

You need to sign up first. Then you can receive the application link by SMS. But if your carrier is not supported you can directly download the application by going to http://www.eqo.com/a from your n73 browser. After signing in with the user name and password, you will get the download link.

To install skype support plugin, you need to sign in, go to my account page and download EQO for Skype Plug-in. After installing, Skype will alert you with a message that another program is trying to access skype. You should allow the operation for a successful connection.

  1. I’m a big fan of Agile Messenger – but I paid for that a few years back.
I’ll be interested to see what EQO can do.
I normally use Agile for MSN & Yahoo and a thing called Fring for Skype.
It’ll be good to have them all rolled into one big (FREE) package!
