Mobango – Mobile Media Sharing

Mobango is a very popular mobile community website for sharing medias. Chances are high that you are using this service already. In case you are not familiar with Mobango, you can read their About Us page which neatly describes what the service is.

I have also used Coogee (discussed earlier in this blog) which is another popular mobile community. But Coogee needs a client program to be installed on the phone while Mobango uses WAP browser for all features. Both have their own pros and cons.

The main advantage for Mobango is, it doesn’t need any client program. It works in any WAP supported device. So you can access all the features of Mobango with any WAP supported device. The only thing you need is an account (Of course, it is free).

Coogee is more faster and efficient as the features are accessed through a client program which needs to be installed first. The interface is more intuitive than the plain WAP interface of Mobango.

But still Mobango is one of the largest mobile communities with tons of shared files. These includes

  • Videos
  • Ringtones (Polyphonic, Truetones)
  • Games and softwares
  • Wallpapers etc

For using this service you need to register first at

For browsing / downloading shared files, you need to use your WAP Browser. For Nokia N73 users, use the Services browser (Main menu-> Services). Then we can go to

Downloading is a two step process. You first need to select the desired files to download and then it should be moved to your WAP locker. Once it is added to your locker, it can be downloaded at any time. The locker size is limited to 1 GB. Also we can upload our own files for sharing.
